THE CALIFORNIA STORM ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT CO-CAPTAINS JANAE GONZALEZ AND LIZ HUTCHISON WILL LEAD THE STORM AGAIN IN 2024.

Sacramento, CA - The California Storm announced today that co-captains Janae Gonzalez and Liz Hutchison will be returning in 2024 to lead the Storm once again.

This will be the fourth year on the team for both Gonzalez and Hutchison, who together led the Storm to lifting the WPSL's Jerry Zanelli Cup in 2022 and WPSL PAC North Champions in 2023.

"I’m thrilled to be back in action with the California Storm this season," said Liz Hutchison. "Wearing that crest and representing Sacramento continues to be a dream come true and more. The season can’t come fast enough - I’m pumped to continue playing with legends on this squad, to welcome new players into the fold, and now, experiencing the coaching prowess of our two new head coaches."

"This is my fourth season signing with Storm," said Janae Gonzalez, "and I am just as excited and thankful as the first. Even though we have accomplished so much, it always feels like we are just getting started. I feel lucky to represent a program that prioritizes its community, there is nothing like attending a Storm home game and it wouldn’t be possible without our boss leader Jamie and all of the coaches and staff who make the team a place players travel from all over with a chance to wear the jersey. And how lucky am I to continue a special co-captain relationship with Liz, someone I have known since I was 11 and someone I root for everyday. I am just ready to be back on the field already to learn and grow with my teammates, and to fight for a championship of course."

The California Storm will again be fielding teams in both the WPSL and USL W League. The 2024 season schedules for both teams will be released this spring.
