Sacramento, CA: The California Storm announced today the re-signing of U.S. Youth Women’s National Team and Stanford senior midfielder, Maya Doms. This is Doms’ third season in a Storm jersey after playing a vital role in the club’s 2022 West Region Final match against Miss Kick FC, where she intercepted a pass from a defender at the top of the box and blasted it past the goalkeeper. The game ended 1-0 Storm and the club would ultimately win the WPSL Championship in Oklahoma the next weekend.
“I can’t wait to play for the Storm again this summer and represent the area I grew up in before my last collegiate season,” said Doms, who played for Storm community partners Davis Legacy Soccer Club prior to Stanford.
“We are thrilled to have Maya back,” said Coach Jamie about having Maya back in the mix for the club’s 2023 season. “She is an incredible athlete and great person. Maya has the ability to change the game at any time. She is an asset both attacking and defensively.”
