Sacramento, CA: The California Storm announced today the re-signing of midfielder Haylee Bettencourt, pending league approval. Bettencourt has been playing for the Storm for 10 years, and returns to the club for another season after helping them claim the WPSL Championship title in Oklahoma last summer (which she did in between shifts at Sutter Health).
“I’m grateful for this opportunity to keep playing for the Storm, and I’m excited to work alongside the upcoming generations of talented women that play for the Storm as well,” said Bettencourt.
“Dr. Haylee is an incredible competitor,” said Coach Jamie. “She is one of the most technical players on the team and really challenges those around her to play better and be the best they can be. In addition to being a great player, Haylee is a great person. I am thrilled to have her back this season.”
Haylee Bettencourt played 31 games for the University of the Pacific Tigers, won Big West All-Academic honors, and was a Pacific and Big West Scholar Athlete. Today she’s a Resident at Sutter Health practicing in Family Medicine.
