Sacramento, CA: The California Storm announced today Storm board member and 1999 Golden Boot winner Sissi as the Technical Coach for both WPSL and USL W League teams.

“I am very excited for this next chapter,” Sissi said, about taking on this new role for a club she has a long history with. “This is what I love to do and I love Storm.”

Sissi is most known for her technical prowess and accurate free kick, which she implemented multiple times in the 1999 World Cup for Brazil. That year, she scored 7 goals, tying with China’s Sun Wen for the Golden Boot.

Sissi played for the California Storm from 2004 to 2014, between appearances for Saad Esporte Club in Brazil and FC Gold Pride in the Bay Area. In November 2019, Sissi was inducted into the International Hall of Fame in Pachuca, the first time a woman was inducted.
